Privacy Policy

We do not collect personal information from the visitors to this site, with the exception of when a customer purchases items from our shop. The shop terms and conditions clearly state the policy there. We never pass on, sell, or otherwise diseminate email addresses or other personal information.

Obviously, the very nature of family history and genealogical research necessitates the gathering of personal information. Our policy is to not publish any information or facts about a person unless they are either verified as having died, or we believe the person would be at least 100 years old. The exception to this policy is where the information is in the public domain, such as a school or college register, documented pedigree of landed gentry etc.

Advertising

We have recently launched advertising on our site and as a consequence of this we need to make you aware that some advertisers may install small cookies in your web browser to assist with the delivery of targetted advertising to the user.

In particular, Google uses The DoubleClick DART cookie in the ads served on the websites of its partners, such as websites displaying AdSense ads or participating in Google certified ad networks. When users visit a partner's website and either view or click on an ad, a cookie may be dropped on that end user's browser. The data gathered from these cookies will be used to help better serve and manage ads on the publisher's site(s) and across the web.

No personal information is relayed using these cookies. By personal information we mean names, age, bank account details, email, etc. Should you wish to opt out of the use of these cookies then you can do so by visiting the Google advertising Opt-out page.

You may like to visit www.allaboutcookies.org which explains all you need to know about cookies, and how to opt-out of them in the settings of many browsers.

We have a specific Cookie Policy in place which we suggest you also read.
